Hair is a semester project that Katharina Hanglberger realized in her first semester at the Free University of Bolzano. The graphic design and elaboration of a magazine was the general task. Beyond the task, Katharina wanted to discuss something special and socially relevant in terms of content.
Smooth skin, shaved legs, the perfect image of idealized women's bodies is an ideal of beauty that has been established and standardized over decades in advertising and the public. But what speaks against unshaven skin ? What makes us feel uncomfortable and why do we shave our skin ? Katharina has sought answers to these questions in various interviews and presented these gegeinander in a charming way.
I was allowed to shoot a unique photo series for this project. It was a completely new experience for me as well and made me think. You can find some of my shots, as well as my answers to Katharina's questions in this post.
