One grip for everything
MD 2393 is a universal camera grip. It has ergonomic ribbing for the fingers to ensure the greatest possible comfort when filming on a long day. It is fixed by two 1/4" screws and is thus firmly connected to the camera rig. The Nato-Rail version is currently only in prototype status and not yet released. The handle also has a small recess with an integrated magnet to store the attachment tool in it.
The all-rounder in the cinema film sector
The original MD2393 stands out with its minimalist design approach. It is probably the smallest grip for Cinema cameras SmallRig has in its repertoire. Its light weight and small size makes it possible for any filmmaker to keep the camera rig as compact and universal as possible. Especially when it comes to creating extraordinary images, the camera has to fit into the smallest nooks and crannies, but still remain easy to use and practical to deploy. With the MD2393 this is possible without any problems.
Probably the smallest grip for Cinema cameras has been created together with SmallRig in the DreamRig program, MD2393 !
because I am convinced that there are different equipment requirements for each application. In the product photos above, you can see another variation of the MD2393. This version is not connected to the camera rig by two 1/4" screws, but makes use of rail technology. This allows a quick change of the grip unit. Especially when things have to move fast on set or during a documentary shoot, the equipment has to be perfectly coordinated.
The big brother, as a Nato-Rail variant, is somewhat larger than the original MD2393 and thus shines with other qualities. Among other things, as just mentioned, by a highly flexible use and short setup times. Even for filmmakers with somewhat larger hands, it is recommended to go for the Nato-Rail variant in order to enjoy the greatest possible comfort.
As of today, the Nato variant of the MD2393 is not available. For more information about the product, please send me an email or contact SmallRig/ DreamRig directly.
