Challenge Roth is the Mecca for every triathlete who wants to compete in the Iron Man distance. Over 300,000 fans celebrate the sport of triathlon at this record-breaking event. Thousands of motivated athletes from all over the world take on the swim, bike and run course at the Challenge. Afterwards, all those who were able to defy all the hardships on the course and finish their race on their own two feet are duly celebrated in the stadium in Roth until late into the night.

Challenge Roth is much more than just a sporting event with numerous visitors. It lives from all the helpers who prepare everything days and weeks in advance to ensure that everything runs smoothly. Without their voluntary support, such a superlative gathering would not be possible. Moreover, it would never have come this far if the Walchshöfer family had not been responsible for the entire organisation and responsibility of the event for generations. Without their warmth and tireless motivation, this unique opportunity would not exist in tranquil Roth.

In addition to numerous amateurs (although this term is in no way appropriate given the distance), some professional athletes also take part. Together with Canyon Bicycles, we were allowed to shoot a documentary as part of the Challenge in 2023. This documentary was also intended to show the core of the event with its multifaceted peculiarities. Among other things, we gained insights into the structure, organisation and participation from an amateur and professional perspective. The sporting fever also infected us directly and still gives us a goose bump today.
